What sets your designs apart?

Andy Fuchs' background in the design and manufacture of audiophile electronics, taught him the value of high grade parts tolerances, selecting parts for sonic merit, ultra-quiet power supplies, and proper wiring layout, assembly and grounding techniques. Our amplifiers also feature carefully selected tubes, and individual bias controls in most models.

Is it true your amps are PC board construction? Why not build them point to point?

Yes, we do use PC Boards. We believe a properly designed PC board amp is capable of better, and more consistent performance than even a well executed point to point amp. A poorly made point-to-point amplifier would be even worse. We feel this way for a number of reasons: PC Boards give a level of precise layout and board to board consistency that no point-to-point product can achieve. All parts are in the same locations on every amp, the circuit can be laid out for low noise, and maximum stability. The variation from amp to amp is much less, and the overall reliability can be much greater as well. With today’s modern PC board software, we have been able to replicate the tone of our hand wired prototypes using PC boards.

How long does it take to get one of your amps?

Our modified amplifiers usually take about 4 to 6 weeks from start to finish. Our manufactured amplifiers are available though our dealer network. Dealer stock varies. Our factory delivery can run from 4 to 8 weeks. Delivery times vary depending on our workload at the time the order is placed, the amount of options ordered, and inventory of cabinets and finishes.

Why does it take so long to get your products?

Because we hand wire most of the products we make, it takes time to build and tune each amplifier to match our reference units, prior to shipment. We test all products on test gear for noise, frequency response, output power and linearity. All amps undergo a 30 to 40 hour burn-in to assure long term stability, low noise and reliability after they leave our shop. After a unit passes these tests, it is tuned using various guitars and is compared to our reference standard sample units. We call this EnginEARing.

Can I have my amp serviced locally?

Yes. Our company will assist any local technician who may require assistance in the unlikely event a unit requires service. We also offer factory service, with extremely quick turnaround, using original selected type parts.

What is the warranty on Fuchs® Audio products?

Fuchs Audio Technology production amplifiers and are now fully warranted for five years on all parts and labor (except tubes which are 90 days). Warrantee excludes physical abuse. The customer is responsible for freight charges to and from Fuchs or it's authorized agents or distributors. All warrantees are subject to suspension if upon examination, the amplifier has been found to have been modified or serviced by unauthorized parties, or used improperly. All warrantees are at the sole discretion of the manufacturer or it's agents. Fuchs® reserves the right to modify this warrantee at it's sole discretion.
